03 / SUSTAINABILITY

Respect for the sea
begins on land.

FSC®-certified plantation wood. A renewable resource, responsibly sourced.

Why origin matters
01 / ORIGIN MATTERS

The cost of illegal teak

When teak comes from illegal logging or unmonitored supply chains, sourcing it can contribute to deforestation, degradation of natural forests, and biodiversity loss.

EIA investigations in Myanmar have documented illegal teak trading and pressure on forests linked in part to demand from the marine industry. Understanding where wood comes from is therefore integral to choosing a material.

02 / THE BLUETEAK® CHOICE

Grown, renewable, certified

BlueTeak® uses plantation wood instead of relying on teak from uncontrolled sources. Growing and renewing the resource are central to this choice.

FSC® certification verifies responsible forest management against environmental, social, and economic criteria. Sustainable management and regeneration enable wood to remain a renewable resource over time.

FSC® chain of custody verifies certified materials throughout the supply chain. The BlueTeak® data sheet lists code FSC-C111413.
